I was a truck loader for Cintas, which is a major, evil, global uniform corporation. I actually enjoyed my work until about 4 months ago then everything went to ****. I basically put myself in charge of the whole load team for the past 6 months due to my authoritative character and me being bright (according to my manager), with that came mental stress, I started caring about my job, things got ****tier and ****tier due to ppl leaving because the management was not doing their job so I decided to quit as well. I made a deal with the manager that I would stay for 3 more weeks, take my one week paid vacation and then leave, my vacation was last week. My manager tried to offer me 2-3 dollar an hour pay raise if I would stay for another year but I said no. My manager got fired a week before my vacation, the new guys are a lot better, they let me take my vacation even though it was the previous manager that promised it to me. After I came back from vacation, this monday, they started talking to me about possibly getting a promotion to Lead Loader (I do what I always do but get paid more for it, and I would also have more then just my heavy backhand to kick my co-workers around). At this point I only cared about the pay, that got ****ed over because this was to be my second pay raise this year (third actually I was promoted once before and I had my one year review) so they had to send the request to the Corporate Vice-President...that asshole wanted to give me a 25 cent raise, I found out today and declined the position. So now I'll work for the rest of the week (today was the hardest, thursday and friday are easy) and Im free sailing after that. Feeling good about it too, the new managers are good but its going to take a while to fix the place after the cluster**** the previous manager put it through (not paying people overtime, just being a lazy bitch all around, etc.).
