I have a problem, please help

ok, so I busted out d2 after like a year of not playing it, and me and a friend are getting ready to do some adventuring together off B.net (cause I think b.net blows now with all the trust fund babies that buy their shit on ebay and have the balls to call me a noob ). Anyway, I try to host a game but it tells me it failed to connect.

I am using the LoD expasion with the 1.11b patch. I hadto use a key gen because i lost my key and I'm not paying for a new one and I'm using a D2Loader so I don't need the disc (I had to install D2 the same way on my friends computer as well).

D2Loader will get you banned now and i'm pretty sure you can't get a generated key to work on battle.net.

I'm not trying to get on B.net tho. I'm just wanting to host an IP game (sorry if I wasn't clear before). When i try to create a host game it tells me a failed to connect.

You probably got a firewall up. Do the same thing you would do if you were trying to host a game on sc or wc.

do you use a router? if so, do me a favor-go to Start, then click Run, type in cmd. then type 'ipconfig' if you are on windows xp, or 'winipcfg' if you are on win95/98/ME

ok, when i try to create a lan game for WC3 i don't have any problems and I'm current;y not using a router, but I normally do. and I did the ipconfig, but when i try to create a host game it still tells me it failed to connect...I might need to go back andwork with my firewall alittle more.

ps: would a key code I got from key gen keep me from hosting games?

The key code would not as local games do not have any interaction with the b.net servers.
