in our local newspaper a while back a kid tried to commit suicide by standing on his garage and tying a rope to the nearest tree then jumping off. but the rope was about 5ft too long and all he broke were his legs. his mom came home from work and saw him lying there =\

This is a setback, but hopefully a small one. However, if the damage the chemo drugs did to my kidneys is permanant, that would be really, really bad.

because having kidneys last more than a few months is an issue...

According to wiki, he is still alive. Then again, the 3-6 months part was a prediction.
