thoughts on mortor/caster/rifle...

i alms always go this in solo or team games just becuz its a fun combo to go that kicks ass. i was just wondering how many others go this and what they think about it.

For teams why not, the best is riflemen +casters , and you just need more footmen and melee for solo, Kaldaris used mortars even for solo, they can also own with other units

fully ug Rifles+preists own-even have a few polymorph sorcs. for last human mission on hard all i used was Arthas and 2 preists in 1 group to draw units away from base then sent in a control group of 12 rifles and anothe rmixed with spellcasters fully upped. i must say this works VERY well on bnet as well: send a hero or 2 and a preist and sorc to draw units away and then send in the rifles+spells.
another cool thing is a rifle *rush*-get a rifle to attack a golem and lure the golems to ur opponenets base and runback to urs....!

Thats part of your strat, thats what you do Edd , you get gryphs and this suprises your opponent, .. thats how you win. But I think this is clear enough for me .. what is better than gryphs..

Sometimes u dont even need to get gryphons. People get owned by this combo so badly that they quit earlier.

Lol whenever i get gryphons i always try to hide them for my opponent....and unitill i get a lot....i then show them.,,hehe...The same for my Dhawks

yeah air should ALWAYS be a surprise, humans are good for "mind games". i like to make the enemy think that i mass footies only to surprise him with rifle casters but only as a bluff by adding knights and mortars into my team. And if they are a complete dumbass and let me get to griffons, then thats when they generally lose.

Yeah but sometimes it is just hard for me to hide my stuff...If the player is good he/she will fully scout my base with a summon or something every once in a while...It pisses me offf

then kill the scout ;)

just try to get like 6 units and attack their base so that way you keep them on the defensive all the while you build your "secret" buildings in the back of your base so its harder to see.

This has to do with your micro, if you can make all important buildings like Arcane Sanctum, blackmsith at the very back it is fine

i prefer to "wall" with upg. buildings such as the vault and smith because they assume i will get it and i try to please them :p

the only problem with having buildings "in the back" is that you have to have a big area to build early on so you risk being attacked early on easier than normally.

A good thing to do is to build ur vault in the back of your base because it is very easily destroyed....some people destroy it and go back to their base!!!

I mostly build my vault at the front of my base so i can buy stuff easily when a battle is being fought outside my base.

Yeah thats the catch....It is usually hard to buy stuff when somthing is at the back of your base....But it is possible if you meticulously postion your structures...

I took this strat from Insomnia- if you make 1 entance with the buildings, surrounding the are of your peasants and hall, and you make him attatck you there- like harass , he can haedly escape without tp- or you just 'burn' his tp if you block him, you make him use it
