How the heck do you kill this critter?

I'm at the end in the Worldstone castle in nightmare mode. I'm trying to kill the high council member "Bartuk the Bloody' and every time I get any amount of damage the sucker casts an electric bolt and heals himself all the way. Even if I damage him while he's doing it I have to start over. I've used weapons with "prevent monster heal" and it doesn't help. Any suggestionsanyone?

grow stronger, or get some friends to kill him for you this is a terrible question.... make sure ur damage isnt lightning based

I'm playing this solo, so I don't have any help. I do know better than to hit a lightening enchanted enemy with lightening. My real question was is there any way to block his regeneration spell? I am using a Paladin and may be able to slam him up against a wall and use smite. I have been able to trap him this way a couple of times and get him pretty far down, but both times I ran out of manna, potion and otherwise, before I could get him dead.

umm hmm do this, go back to normal and have the stats on him reset, maybe then it will take away whatever makes his regenerate as you say he does, if it doesnt and youve tried everything get an editor get urself a fantastic weapon or somethign kill him and then delete the weapon so its not really cheating...

First off what type of build is the pally, and what lvl is he currently at.
secondly off the top of my head you can try to get a act 2 or act 5 merc to melee him, get more mana pots, get to a higher lvl, do more damage with a better weapon, poison him really bad, do cold damage to slow him down so he cant do the regen as fast, and/or stun him so he cant do anything.

@sworn, keep in mind, hes playing single player, which means his character probably isnt a cookie cutter, its probably (no offense here) a noobish build.

try leveling around a3 for a while until u get a level or two

get enough gold and max out all spaces with mana pots, and fight him with you rinv open, so when ur low on mana just rightclick a pot.

also, try getting an a2 or 3 cold merc.

Get a a2 freeze merc, put yourself in a position where you dont get hit by his lightning, and kill

I finally just ignored him and killed off the other two bosses. Then I came back at him with smite @6 and kicked the crap out of him with an a2 freeze minion with a level of 54 and a lot of armor. I use smite @6 and Fist of heaven @9. This is probably a lughabley noobish build but I only discovered this forum after playing for a while. I'm running solo in nightmare mode. I've gotten to Baal and I've gotta figure a way to up my freeze protection. I don't seem to be damaging him with either charge @3 or fist of heaven. Does this menat that I'm fighting a double or is he that tough?
