Seriously though, report posts, don't spam, post intelligently, etc. Don't expect to report a post and become a mod though. Oh and if you do search there have been tons of these threads.
Like Jason. said, you don't become a moderator over time, (This may sound painfully philosophical or poetic) inside yourself, you are a moderator, a person who is mature, has leadership skills and the like.
But then again, i see some moderators who just don't fit any of those requirements. :rolleyes
I became a mod by helping out I guess...I actively help out anyone I can find in CS Tech Support, I report posts all the time in general, admins are prolly sick of me from that And most of the admins know me and I talk to them every once in a while, and I don't have any enimies in the staff yet...general kindness and shown leadership helps a bit. Posting stuff like this never helps though, try not to ask for a spot =/ If one of the staff members wants you to be a part of their team, they will tell you, not vice versa. And yes, you don't have to be here long, I've only been here 5 months and I was offered a little bit more than I took, regrettingly =/
