How do I socket something?

I know this sounds really stupid, but I forgot. Can you tell me the exact steps please? Do I use a cube or something?

You do the larzuk quest and he does it for you. There are cube recipes to socket magics and rares, look them up at: www.battle.net/diablo2exp

Not adding sockets... How do I put chips inside of socketed items?
