How did I Die in Town?

I joined a dueling game (in Rogue) and got hostiled but died in town. How is this possible? Another hack? If so is there anything i can do?

If it were very near the border it could have been lag... but if it were in Mid town with no lag involved i dont know.

There are hacks for these type of things, usually happens in hardcore games where some lvl 95 dude with good items gets sick pleasure in ruining other peoples characters.
