:rolleyes2 I'm tired of healing in any raid. Can a paladin become a good tank?even better than a warrior tank?

I lol'd irl.

I wouldn't count on getting recruited to a guild as a tank as a head's up.

They don't have nearly the same abilities as a Warrior to reduce damage they take, that's for damn sure. Going invulnerable only makes threat trickle to other members of the party, and their taunt has a much longer CD.

Actually you would be suprised, Paladins are turning out to be very viable tanks. My buddy was on the beta test, and they had a paladin out-tank a warrior on Magtheridon. I mean, paladins now have a taunt (on up to 3 targets at a time), and argueably more aggro buildup than warriors. The only downside is that there isnt a defensive stance to reduce magic damage, let alone reflect it. There is a boss out there, I forget his name, that causes holy spells to create 90% more threat. For that fight, you HAVE to have a paladin tank. Perhaps blizzard is leaning in that direction?

The only problem we paladins used to have was gear, but the righteous set fits the bill with the massive buildup of stam and +defense.

I probably won't dig into this opportunity because i like healing in raids. But hey, it's an idea =).

I hate when people say that a skilled druid can outtank a warrior. That's just not fair.

A skilled mage can kite mobs and have no need for a tank FOR THE MOST PART, but that doesn't mean they're going to do it. The only way a druid can outtank a warrior is if the warrior sucks and if the Druid is amazingly good.

I've NEVER seen an amazing druid outtank even a moderatly awesome warrior. Ever.

Then your server is full of awful druids. I have two tanks i switch between instancing with: A warrior in bold set / dreadnaught set, and a druid in pick'n'choose gear. Between the two, I choose the druid. Since the druid buff right before the BC release, the druid damage mitigation and argueably the aggro generation has been far higher than any warrior can reach, not to mention they have just about the same amount of health, and the druid can become far more useful in situational fights (i.e. popping out for an innervate, or for the extremely insane tranquility which aoe heals for like 1200 a tick).

Yeah seriously, in a 5man, the dps can go all out without peeling aggro from a feral druid, i have to spec protection if i have any hope of holding aggro.

Lolpompyrocrit > my aggro.

Well if a Druid wants to be a respectable tank, they need to be feral. It just coincides that tree also has a majority of their DPS talents as well. If a Warrior wants to DPS, they need to go into a tree that's going to nerf their ability to tank.

Warriors can be far more specialized in either dealing or taking physical damage, unfortunately you need to pick one, the other or a hybrid of the two. Some use that to their advantage, others consider that their curse. But I think most guilds would rather take a DPS Warrior over a DPS Druid, unless they have a severe lack of Druids to begin with.

Personally, I could care less who tanks. I have a good friend that knows how to play his druid and when he tanks we rarely have a problem with pulling aggro.

A pally tank, I can't say anything cuz I havent seen one tank before though I have dueled some pallies and they can with stand a good amount of damage it seems.

I can tank, but I hate it. I can out DPS most rogues in my guild and I am usually 2nd or 3rd on the meters. I have always enjoyed DPS'ing more than tanking. Fully buffed I am sitting at 44% chance to crit and when you get crits 1500-2000k constantly, its easy to pull aggro. So Like I said, I dont care who tanks as long as they can hold the aggro. :)

I did Mechanar with some members of the guild I'm going to enter, and god damn, there was this gnome warrior who did almost more damage than me and a fire mage together.
