Shaman + Druid + Hunters + Rogues. Shaman starts by either spamming earthbind next to their flag while rogues stunlock anyone that try to get the flag. If by some miracle the alliance gets the flag, the hunter's freezing trap holds them in place. One could argue that alliance could do the same thing but alliance doesn't have a spell which causes aoe "pseudo-daze" nor do they get frostshock which has it's cooldown shorter than the frost effect. Sure hammer of justice is nice but it's only about 10 seconds (only castable once every 3 min. or so) and is essentially a "stunlock" that a rogue could do.

Now for retrieving the flag:
Mage- Blink+Nova+Mana shield
Druid- Regrowth+Reju+Travel form
Priest- Psychic Scream + Shield + Renew + Dispel
Rogue- Sprint+Evasion (not too effective if they manage to stun you magically)
Hunter- Concussive shot + Pray that no one will hit you while you do AoC (another not too effective tactic)
Paladin- non existant
Warrior- non existant
Warlock- non existant
Shaman- Earthbind + Purge (for enemy spells) + Warstomp(?) + Frost shock (castable while running) + Travel form

When CTF is all about speed and healing, you notice something truly wrong when horde has WotF which makes Priest and Locks useless for defending. 25% Stun resist on Orc though not necessarily much, can turn the tide of battle dramatically when fighting paladins with seal of justice. And finally you have a shaman who is tied for fastest unit which can not only capture flags easily but can heal pretty well and defend if the need arrives.

Perhaps a sign that running in and attacking rather than group teamwork is a necissary asset when playing?

I've noticed more Horde players watch out for each other in CTF than our counterparts as well.

A majority of what I see when the Alliance DOES get the flag is one person running like hell while their allies are on defense. On the other hand, I have yet to see a Horde flagrunner with fewer than 3 people around them buffing/healing/defending.

I think poor tactics and a lack of age on the Alliance's part has a little to do with their shortcomings as well.

Yeah that is a common thing on both sides (alliance more for that matter, but it gets better as you get higher lvl). But yes, this is a factor that you should take into consideration but when you have shaman dispel all of my shields and i cant fear any undead, what can a priest do but renew my flag carrier when he gets the flag?

My servers CTF is hilarious. Its organized 10 man alliance raid (all MC epic gears) vs random horde. GG blizzard.

We own you alliance. The only reason why you are losing is because the teams are equal and you cant have 5 beating on one horde this time. Also it's because when you die you don't have your high levels to come and kill them for you.

I've played CTF about four times (Consecutively) and all four times, alliance raped us. For several reasons, which i will list -

  • We had a Lv22 Troll Rogue who was adamant in trying to kill a Lv30 Dwarf Rogue (Dwarves shouldn't be Rogues, too fat and homosexual. I REALLY hate Dwarf Rogue's) and therefore he did not help us.
  • All of the Alliance team each four games were above Lv25, and Horde was spread with about 3 above Lv25 (One being me [27] and two Lv30's).
  • We had no Priests. Our only healer was me and another Shaman, of which tried to solo.
  • Zero teamwork, everyone did there own thing and did not listen at all.
  • People fighting for the leadership role.
  • About a maximum of two people defending, one of which being me.

The only thing i thought we did well was the fact that we held off one Alliance assault because we just-so-happened to all be near the flag at the one time (Save a few). I'll try CTF again when i'm Lv30, that way, i can pwn a Dwarf Rogue and not the other way around.

Hehe, yeah, I missed out on my opportunity to own once I hit 40 in CTF. I decided to just go straight for 50 instead. :p

The lower level people are lower level because they can't cooperate long enough to work in a group with others in an instance. Hence the reason the higher up in levels you go, the more mature, and less newbish people get Renny.

It's nice when I'm partying with people I KNOW are probably 12-14 years old now, but when I use the N or G rule, or say some acronym, they know what I'm talking about. Hang in there sexy cow man!:p

That is the same situation i bet alliance has sometimes except you replace dwarf with orc and shaman with paladin.

We just happen to have a higher concentration of 5 year olds. lvl 41-50 is when you really start to see CTF shine and the abuse of your lvl 40 talent tree spells *cough*windfury*cough*
