heres how you find out....

step 1:start diablo
step 2:login
step 3:join a game
step 4:now, this is important, push T
step 5:move your mouse to the holy shield skill. DON'T CLICK!! Just keep your mouse over it.
step 6: now, READ!!

Holy shield does receive synergies from Defiance. However, I was always told that Defiance is such a useless skill, and it is. My first Paladin had like 12 skill points invested in Defiance before I knew it sucked, so I created a new Paladin. Investing points in Holy Shield is good enough, don't wasted points on Defiance unless it's a prerequisite. That's my opinion anyways.

Zan, it's a synergy for more defense.

Screw that. Just use an Exile. Not as much defence, but a lot (Eth Exile Kurast/Vortex Shields can have 900+ defence when they are ethereal and Holy Shielded I believe, or It's without HS. ) and the runeword gives Defiance as well. That's what I'd do if I wanted more defence.

if u use holy shield...u might want a point in defiance for 15% bonus per level. It adds up with all ur skills

It does? + skills don't add % to Snyergies like a actual point into that skill does, I believe.

You're right. +skills do NOT count as synergies.

So no the defiance from a runeword would not add to holy shield.

Smite and Defiance go together pretty well if you're doing melee duels.....

But those are retarded anyways, and no1 likes smite in a melee duel.
