I know that bf probably abounds with computer problems, but heres another one. Last night, my comp started acting all wierd. All of a sudden, whenever I boot up, it gives me this strange "norton was unable to run email protect" now thats fine, I use an online email anyway, but a little later, it gives another error, this time "unable to load subscription data, please reinstall Norton" fine, again, probably just a glitch (or so i thought) and then.....after all that, I find that i can't log onto the internet.....period.....ive got 384k dsl (im doing this from the comp at my moms house btw, comp in question is at dads) WTF IS GOING ON??? I tried asking dad, but he blew his top when i asked him what to do (he has no idea) so, I turn to people who actually know their way around xp and stuff...

Note: I ran norton virusscan 3 times and turned up nothing. I had also updated virus definitions the night before. Also, the trouble seemed to start when I ran ad-aware at startup and it deleted some registry crap.....this help to figure it out? Is it a virus? hacker? HELP PLZ!

usually its because of a registry problem and if any of the registry was affected it'll bitch at u. the best thing you can do ids go to control panel uninstall norton in the add/remove programs. then reinstall it too save you hella problems. I'am pretty sure the disk doesn't contain a registry settings fixer so you'll more than likely have to reinstall. depends on the version and options it gives you when you start-up.

It might be ISP problems if you can't get on the Internet.

It might be a registry problem, or your Windows is missing something.
