When im using starforge for the terrain i get what i want done(terrain,doodads, etc.)Then i open SCXE and do the trigs but wen i move around the map it gets all wierd looking. What am i doing wrong/how can i fix this?

did u put black terrian?
if u did dats the problem.
but dont worry it wont mess it up in the game
if u were u id put the black terrian after i finish it.

Get the newest update of starforge the problem is fixed in that version. Also the null terrain is really annoying when you are putting locations in i know that for sure so all u gota do is update your version of starforge.

It's not a problem with StarForge, it's a problem with StarEdit (and hence, its patches). If you want to use black tiles that SE will draw over, you can open up the master palette and use any black tile that is not in the first row.

Hmm. Ive always wondered...

If null terrain is basically nothing then would it reduce lag or map size.

Null terrain can also be built on. If you extend creep on the null then you can build on it.

Using null terrain won't have any effect on lag or map size unless you have a large section of it - the compression algorithms of the MPQ can shrink sections of data that are filled with the same value much better than they can sections with more random data. This only affects map size and not lag, and you probably won't see much of a difference either.

A fun comp-stomp map is make an entire map null terrain and make sure you're zerg and they're not. Comps can't build anything. Drunk made a map like that a while ago.
