Help Please!!!

i need help. i am new to diablo 2. i have the full game. i copied them from my stepdad's bought version. but even when i do a full install, and even if the play disk is in it it will still say, that there is no disk in there. i got a patch that makes it work (1.05b). it works even without the cd then, but then i cant use the battlenet at all. then if get the newest patch, it says that it cant read the cd. i mean i have a copy of the actual bought cd, can anyone tell me why it is not working.

1) you have to have a cd key
2) because you copied it and the game knws its evil to steal software *hides potoshop*

u have to install it with ur disc or it gives that error for some reason
try installing the norm d2 with his then exp with urs see if that works

You need to use the original Classic D2 cd for the first installation, then use the copied D2 LoD cd for the Expansion installation. If it doesn't work, you may need to get your own copy.
