For some reason my computer wont load up my starcraft cd or my bw cd! I have no idea why, they work on my other computer and worked yesturday!

I tried to play it today but my comp just freezes until i open the cd drive which is working hardcore and nothing is happening!

Other games work in the drive just not BOTH of my sc cd's.

(The cd's dont seem scratched or anything, just will not work.)
Please help me!!

SC IS THE ONLY COMPUTER GAME I PLAY AND I JUST CAME BACK!

Aye, if you can't get onto BNET, go to Blizzard and download 1.12b. Maybe it'll fix it. >:O

You probably have a corrupt file on your CD or on your computer. Try totally uninstalling brood war and the original starcraft and try again.

Well, my CDs came from America (coRt sent them :)), but I [think I] have an european DVD Rom. Both CDs take quite a while to load.

Did that start happening just like that?

By the way, try this: Next time you restart your computer, put the brood war CD just before windows shut down, so it won't have time to read it. When it goes back up, see if goes well. If it does, it might be the auto run system that is a little bugged (that usually means you need to get a lens cleaner or you need to clean your CD).

That's what I was going to say. Try that and see if you're still having the problem.

This only happens with SC.

You can try a no cd loader, and or, uninstall BW/SC, delete your directory/profile, get a registry cleaner, make sure it gets rid of all the old reg elements, and reinstall, but instead of doing the patch by patch, go to blizzard

http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=msc0411p

and download them all as one patch. I had a problem when i first came back, the patching over patching right after another ****ered something up. Just a suggestion.

You know, I'm having the exact same problem. Sometimes, it can take over five minutes to pop up. I'll get bored waiting for the splash screen, so I'll just start playing something else and it'll end up crashing my game.

Use a shortcut from the desktop or the start menu or something to start playing, rather than waiting for the splash screen. If the CD isn't in the drive, double-click the shortcut before you put the CD in. Click Continue after you put the CD in. That way, the splash screen won't pop up while you're playing.
