Greetings!
I decided to write this after all, its not intended as 'trolling' or flame bait but an honest attempt to understand my fellow Diablo Players and maybe get some insight.
Foremost I dont understand the language. I can understand shortcuts in posts and people that do not speak English as their language. Abbreviations like lmao, rofl, and stuff I get. Abbeviations for Diablo items..well I dont get and I cant seem to find a master list (ccb??) but thats ok because I know those conversations are not meant for newbs.
That said I dont understand the rest of the language - 'dude speak'? Are the people that write that way wanting to communicate to others that type/read that way? Its sooo hard to understand.
(ugh, I am sounding old and even anal but I gotta vent!)
And the subject matter...ok I just dont GET it.
-someone posts that he cant get on because his account is in use and covers his post with curse words and how he hates Blizzard and then we find out he gave his cd to someone....no apology, no acceptance of responsibility for HIS mistake? Why on earth be mad at Blizzard?
-Another person is mad at people that cheat during duels...so dont duel them? Why waste energy being mad?
-People upset about being scammed...is the old rule 'if it sounds too good to be true' not used anymore? Or 'fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me'? Maybe they are both applicable but my point is people need to be accountable for their OWN actions instead of getting all mad.
-There are some current posts where people are mad this other poster is bringing up 'old posts'... I tried to figure out why this is a bad thing and the only thing I can think of is that a person who comes here regularly doesn't want to see 'old' posts anymore? Is that why or is there something else? Just seems like if this person or any other new person wants to comment on issues raised in the past he might as well do it on an aged post...if not how many flames would he get saying "we talked about this before?" crazy.
Ok, im done. I swear really and truly I had no intent to flame anyone, I just dont get the next generation I s'pose...which is FINE, Lord knows my generation is screwy!!
