Hello. I am new and I have a question about Diablo 2.

I was wondering if anyone may have encountered the same problem I have with socketed items. For an example, I was using a bow w/ two sockets, and I put in a runes stone that causes more damage to the undead, and a ruby for fire damage.
After about ten or so minutes of continual play I noticed that I could no longer see "flame damage" as my arrows were hitting their targets and it did not seem that my arrows were causing as much damage. The same type of ghost that only took 2 or 3 shots to take down, was taking 5 or 6 after just a little time on the same level.
Anyways, I hope someone can help or has a thought they can share about this.

A little about me, I like mostly rpg and strategy. I could not tell you how many hours I played Civ2 and Diablo on my PS1 when I bought it in '98. Diablo 2 is one of my fav games, and the only major grip I have is this problem I mentioned above. I can give more examples and information about this that I will mention later. Thanks for reading. :morph

Welcome to battleforums.

My suggestion is that it would get more diablo responses in the diabloforums.

I don't know why it would count, are the monsters immune to fire? Does it show the fire damage in the stats section (damage should be red I think)? If not it would be a good idea to post in diabloforums as I cannot think of a solution.

Welcome to BattleForums! This would make a nice addition to Newbies Only. :)

There are a few things that could have made the monsters harder. Were they deeper into the game, or were there other players with you? Other players make monsters stronger, incase you didn't know. Also, Elemental damage seems to be shown by whichever element has the most damage on you. So if you do 4 lightning damage, 8 fire damage, and 20 cold damage, I'm pretty sure it's going to show the cold damage sprite when you hit something rather then the other two. :)

Have fun here, and happy posting! ^_^

either ways, it should show up a small explosion on the monster..... otherwise, the only thing i can think of is that more ppl came into the game, which makes the monsters harder to kill

This was a newcomer thread, if you cared to read the whole thing.

Move it back, or be creative and split them into two different threads...

I still don't know the answer to your question, is this in single player or in-realm? Is it continuous (can you leave game it will go back to normal)? Maybe it just doesn't show the animation for the fire, or it is no longer in affect.
