Head knifing + Walking

Hi, my first post here... I'm a slightly above average player who loves the AK + MP5, sucks at sniping, never walks...

I have a few questions:
1) How do you knife someone's head? I jump and aim down but that doesn't seem to work, do you just jump and aim straight ahead?

2) Why would you really walk? If you're chasing someone, and you walk, you can't catch up! (unless he stops or you find someone camping) Whenever I hear someone running from the rightside, it's usually the left side, and vice versa; ever happen to you guys?

People walk because they don't want to be heard. Not only that, being silent gives u the advantage of hearing enemy footsteps. If you hear footsteps nearby, and an ally isn't near u on the radar, then you obviously have a chance to own him. And as for hearing someone run from the right, but they really on the left, and vice versa; maybe u wearing your headphones the wrong way huh? Try buying a grenade and throwing it to your left, if you hear an explosion on the right side, you a retard.

and could you help me with aiming with the knife when jumping?

Knifing in the head is never a sure thing. Just aim for his head, and sometime you'll get lucky.

As for walking, it helps you hear the other persons footsteps, so you can surprise them.

Of course keep in mind most above average players are smart enough not to make sound, so depending on that entirely isn't too smart. And by the way, if someones back is turned and u and may u have a chance to knife, just shoot the him. Why try to knife and give him a chance to kill u?

well most of the time that i knife people are too stunned to turn around in time. or else i shoot them once first then switch to knife really quick

First of all... go for their backs, it's an instant kill.

Second: a friend and I practiced knifing to figure out headshots once. We played "slash only" so we could figure it out. Look at your knife when you slash it, notice it doesn't reach the crosshair. Aim your knife at the guy's head, not the crosshair. This'll increase your chances of getting a headshot.

well sometimes u should use knife instead of reloading,, for example me at de_dust i killed a couple with an ak and ran low in ammo for myak,, so switched to deagle and got a kill then ran low so theni took my knife and startedknifing

i usually aim a little above their head to get a headshot. works for me.

Isnt it kind of redundant the knife even has a crosshair? Melee weaponry is usually speacialized to the thinking of a natural feeling when you slash at your enemys.

hmm...normally when i knife someone i aim for the throat...75% of the time its a headshot, guess its luck.

You should never jump when knifing.

Hehe, I charged a guy who had an AK with my knife and killed him at long A on dust2. I actually came at him without shooting at all--I just took out my knife and strafed left and right til he was out of ammo. That was sweet. When I right-clicked for the knife kill, my hand kinda twitched in excitement and I got him in the head.

ive only gotten a hs from knife in assault. it was bitching.

so the guy is a terroris behind the huge ass crate inside the warehouse and he is carefully looking for anyone that is coming. i come in from the vents (not from the path that makes a sound) and walked my way toward him (im just above him now on the catwalks) and i scream bonzai!!! and land on him and right click and got hs. BEST.....KILL.....EVER!!!!11!!!1!!!!

ROFL I just remembered a LAN game I was playing once on assault.
About 20 people were playing this game--10 on each team. I live in a hick town, so I'm basically the best player in the room. Me and another player (a big newbie) were one on one. I had low HP, below 50. I was on the roof and he was coming out of the big entrance. I took out my knife, jumped (I didn't just walk off, I actually jumped) off of the roof with my knife out and stabbed him in the head and then fell straight through his corpse to the ground. It looked like we both died at the same time, but the whole room roared with laughter when they saw what happened.


Which brings me to a point... the easiest way to get knifing headshot is to fall on someone's head.

To get yer HS with the knife, keep your crosshair towards chin-level. This is a very sure spot for hs'ing with the knife. practicing on ka_ maps really helps find the difference ~
