Hardcore Players?

I'm looking into getting back into Diablo II: LOD. That being said, I've always enjoyed the "hardcore" aspect of the game. As frustrating as it was, it was still very enjoyable. Out of curiousity, how many of you BattleForum-ers play the "hardcore" mode? And if you do, what realm do you play on? I'd like to play regularly with people. Also, is it ladder or non-ladder?
