Just because the U.S. gave it a gay little back story, and started calling it thanksgiving doesn't mean it is exclusive to the U.S. people have been celebrating the same holiday for thousands of years based on the end of harvest season.

I had a turkey sandwich last night not even knowing that I was celebrating Canada.

I too wish I could celebrate Canada, but here in the Islands I celebrate names I cannot pronounce, little alone try to spell.
