I just got back from our fireworks show. They blew cannons during the 1812 Overture. Kids were crying and old people were dazed and confused.

Then the fireworks, and the singing of patriotic songs...all good. I posted pictures and a video here.

I know some of you aren't American but come on!!! Its the 4th of July. The time of the year of blowing things up with modified fireworks.

We didn't see/set off a single firework. I got up, found out I didn't have to work, went to lunch with my parents, saw two movies at the theater (Transformers and Live Free or Die Hard), and brought dinner/movies home.

The time of the year to set off fireworks is between December 31st and January 1st.

Not some crappy holiday no one in the world gives a shit about.

And oh, you wanna know a country that pretty much never gets heard about, is never on any list, and never has any interesting international news? Portugal. I mean, seriously...if I didn't know Tronga, I'd probably forget Portugal even exists.
