I'm curios as to what everyone thinks about this. I can look at it 2 ways:

1. BIG mistake. This is just going to bring more terrorist attacks upon themselves. They just stirred up a hornets nest and they might be in too deep.

2. It was completely understandable. Hamas is a terrorist organization and Israel was just fighting terrorism. It's like America killing Osama Bin Laden. Al Queda is a threat to America, just as Hama is a threat to Israel. Good move on Isreal's part.

Personally, I think that it was the wrong move. Ariel Sharone doesn't want peace, he tries to incite them. He had to have known that is is going to cause more bloodshed and absolutely no peace, but he went through with it anyhow.

How about your opinions?

I totally agree with you. Even if it was because of a terrorist threat, that doesn't necessarily justify the assassination. In the end, I bet it will be like you said -- causing more bloodshed and absolutely no peace.

if your going to assassinate someone do it under the table quietly, and deny you had anything to do with it... dont let everyone know for christs sake, then he goes down like a martyer.

He's a terrorist, he's responsible for killing innocent civilians. Personally, I'm quite happy that they shot a missle thought the ****er's chest. Now, all they need to do, is send one though Arafat and then Isreal might have a shot at peace.

I agree with what Ireal's diplomat to the US said. He, as I, believes that most Palistinians want peace and are tired of people like Arafat and Hamas. This may stir up terrorists, but they are a severe minority. They have to brainwash kids and pay off families to commit suicide attacks. It might bite them back in the short-run as demonstrated by the "evacuation" of 1700 troops (I may have the number off).

Does everyone believe that Ariel Sharon actually wants peace? I don't think he does. He is doing everything in his power to stir up sh*t. He could have tried to quietly assassinate him and then deny it, but he chose to make it a big deal. He knew that it would bring on more trouble. I don't think that he's willing to make the compromises that are needed for peace. Arafat is a terrorist in my eyes also, but even with him gone Sharon still wouldn't want peace.
