Hacking Your XBOX

Welcome to Nearby-Stalker's Tutorial for hacking your xbox, without having to void your warentee. I will have seperate ones for ones that do void your warentee, and also work alot better/easyer. This is the first one I am making for BattleForums.com

I in no way take responcibility for you ****ing up your xbox. I have done this many times and it has always worked for me. I will try to help you to all of my abilities to get your xbox working again if you **** it up. If you follow this guide step by step, it WILL work.

Requirements

Xbox(duh)
PC(must have ethernet port)
Hub/Rounter/Switch/2 Ethernet Ports in your PC
2*Cat5e cable's
Mirc
007 Agent Under Fire, MechAssault Live (not the demo with starwars and tetris) or Splintercel (not all of them work, but this is what I use.)
Save Game Exploit
MS or Madcatz Memory Card
Either a ActionReplay or a USB cable that you can cut up and a new break away cable (just go to bestbuy/futureshop and you can get one for 10$ canadian or like 7$ usd) or a friend with a modded xbox

I know this sounds like ALOT, but chances are, you got most of them allready, the only things you may not have is the actionreplay or the save game exploit.

Part 1.

Go on Mirc and go to any EFNet server and go to channel Xbins. Follow the on screen inscrutions on how to get onto the ftp server and download :
/XBOX/apps/dashboards/evolution-x/_official/EvolutionX Build 3935.rar
(that was the latest build at the moment). You will also want to get Xbox Media Center and a bunch of other files. You can learn and download these later. Now put the default.xbe file into the same folder that the Signing program is in, and open the .bat file, it will sign it with the HABBIE signature. When it is done there will be a new file in that folder named out.xbe, that is the file you want, put that in to evo-x folder and rename it to default.xbe.

Part 2.

Get the Save Game Exploit, I will be posting it as soon as i can get ahold of my FTP username and password again, i lost it because a harddrive crashed, and alot of good stuff was on it that was very important. Anyways, back to the task on hand. Now if you got a action replay, your work is cut out for you, put the save game on your memory card, and your done for this part, go to part 2. If you dont have a action replay, but you do have a friend that has a modded xbox, your work is also cut out for you, send the exploit to your friend, get him to put it on a memory card for you, and move on to part 2. Now, if you dont have a action replay or a friend with a modded xbox, you MUST go buy a break away cable and steal your printers usb cable (joking, but you need a usb cable to cut up, if you dont have one, just go buy a action replay, because it will be cheaper/easyer in the long end then buying a break away cable and a usb cable). What alot of people dont understand is that the xbox controller ports are accually USB1.1 ports, that have a different shape. Simply cut the break away cable and the usb cable in half and match up the colors, making sure you got the right 2 ends that you are attaching together, the end of the break away cable that goes to your controller, and the end of the usb cable that goes to the pc, then electricle tape it till you think it is good enough Now, your going to need drivers for it when you plug it into your pc. Down this and connect your new usb xbox controller to your computer and install the devices. When it asks where to look for the drivers, put

C:\Program Files\Datel\ActionReplay Xbox\Drivers

and it will work. Open the action replay software, put the save game into it, then put it onto your memory card. Should be simple enough.


Part 3.


Connect a Cat5e Cable to your xbox from your hub/router/switch/extra ethernetport and reattach your stock break away cable and attach it back to your xbox, and boot up without a cd. Go to the top and press A, then go to the memory card and find your save game and copy it to your xbox. Now take your memory card out of the controller, and reboot the system with the game in it. Load your save game, the screen should go black, then boot up into something that looks totally weird!!! its called Evo-X. Here is a screenshot of what you should see. Go down to system util's then settings. Make sure your network settings are setup correctly and that your IP address is not 0.0.0.0 If it is 0.0.0.0 change "Use Static IP" to yes and then reboot and load up your save game again so that your back here. Remember the ip address.


Part 4.

Go into Internet Explorer and copy/paste this in it if your ip address is 192.168.0.2, if it isnt, replace it with the ip address.

Now, you should be bombarded with like 8 different partions, DONT WORRIE!!! this is good!!! Go to E then to UData. Remember the name of the save game? should be something like 4541000d, go in there, now go into 000000000000. You should now see a bunch of files and folders. Folders : backup, bios, temp. Files : Datelinfo.xbx, default.xbe,evox.ini,items.txt,savemeta.xbx,xbsavegame.dat. This is what your suppost to be seeing, if you do not see these, you are in the wrong folder, go back and look for the right folder. Simply Drag & Drop your evo-x folder contents into here, and u will be fine. You are now ready to start copy'ing games to your xbox, copy'ing rom's and emulators, or what ever you want to do! For now on you can load into evo-x with your save game exploit using the game and loading up that bugged save game!

Remember, piracy is wrong and illegal.

I did that with Halo mod, with the tank nidler and the Shotgun/ roket lauchers, good old stuff, works liek a wonder... Tho i used a WAY diffrent method, i shoved lunix on it, and a run everythign off of (required to use it) Meck Assult. =)

my main question is,

does it only copy/download games from other computers or will it be able to go online?

also, will you be able to edit the games or is that impossible?

no it doesnt only do that. You can dl them streight onto the xbox from disc, or from dl's from the internet (obviouslly only if you own the origonal copy and yours is scratched, otherwise it would be illegal!), but it also does alot more things. Yes you can edit the games, there are released tools for editing some games like halo 2, basicly they made a program that hex's the files. Dont use tihs tutorial, use my other one.

this tool sounds VERY useful if you owned multiple xbox's *for lans* and didnt want to spend the cash to buy all the extra copies of the game when you already have one.

yes you can make and edit halo 2 maps. People release the ones that they allready got. Its good for using on xbc or xlink kai.
