How to defend against NE

How do u defend against NE?
Fairie Dragons kill my priests/sorcs, can't heal easily
the blizzard/flamstrks have damage caps,
i can't polymorph mount-giants
my knights can't attack a mtn-giants surrounded by enemy NE
Fairie Dragons hurt all my heroes

ok, get rifles, and lay off on the casters if they have alot of faries. as for MG, ignore them. I know it is frustrating with taunt, jsut bypass the MG, and get to the untis in behind.

dont get BM with flamstrike, it isnt worth the mana for the damage it does. get MK second, and for AM get WE. if they have faries have rifles aim the faries. you need to micro, but you should not have to much problem. also agaisnt dryads and hunts, throw in morter teams. they will make quick work of any hunts or dryads hiding behind even the mountain giants.

couldnt have said it better...i have something to add
pack up the Mk with some potions and send him to the archers or hunts (behind the mountain giants) and thunderclap...

Since we are under this topic... can some one please tell me how to counter archers/druid of the wind/dryads(sometimes none) and a suped up warden....The archers usually greatly outnumber my knights!!! while my hero is focus fired!!!!

yeah the thunder clap is a great move i forgot to add in. there are others.

defend early game agaisnt archers. if ur hero is focused get a potion of invulnerability, or perhaps *gasp* get a pally second if u find it happens alot. pally heals 200 hp for 60 mana and has a 5 second cooldown. also if he is getting alot of archers, aoe spell, blizzard. capped or not if u get knights running up to them there is little chance that aoe with knights pounding them will od much.

Also add in spellbreakers for that fire, and priests if they dont have alot of dryads. heal, dispel for FF if ur breakers run low on mana, and perhaps throw in innerfire would help.

warden? if she does a SS warden, make sure to always have potions and invulnerability potions on your heros. If you find it a real trouble scrap what i said above, get the MK for storm bolt, bolt his hero and surround. blink or not bolt still does wonders. then add pally as third for healing anyways. If it is a FOK warden, then generaly it doesnt do alot of damage to knights and such, but make sure ur hero doesnt get to low so a FOK can get thrown at him and he dies.

Yes good points Pan and Quiksilver.I'll just tell you the counter of what you find a problem.

Indeed, get rifles, if you see a hunt then make many rifles if you see archers get some footmen with defend or use your elementals to kill them.
When you use the rifles, upgrade long rifles. This is one very important upgrade and I dont uderstand why the others dont use it. You can kill faeries in seconds. Having MK as second you cant kill the hero so fast but with bolt you can stop him until you kill the faeries. Having long rifles you can move your rifles a little away so that they arent in t he center of the battle and can shoot away from the giants. You can have knights against giants, yes but more important is to have priests and breakers. With priests giants cant kill your rifles and will lose a lot more if they try to kill the knights first (who are being healed).

ok archers are crap, rifles own them with a few footies regardless of what you people say, adding any any HU hero execept pally the aoe will slaughter them.

You mean there are HU players that dont know that rifles, caster, and mortars are the only strat HU has? lol

vs fearies, turn off all your spells is much easier than to not get casters, just turn it off FF the fearies then turn it back on.

the only real strat that NE has vs HU since hunts suck so bad is bears mg, and dryads. well HU have figured out that mortars own dryads so now your casters are effective again, mass rifles, or rifles and knights will own bears, cuase knights>bears.

MG bah like Pan said just ignore them untill u finish off those other key units, then the MG will just ensure you a level 6.

Yes but archers with PotM are very strong. If you dont use AOE they can own your rifles if there are masses.

And not necessarily you can use only rifles and casters and mortars. If a NE doesnt start as usual with the hunts, they mass archers tech to tier 2 and 3 quickly. You can own a NE if too early, with some towers and if you're good enough with footmen and later with knights and casters against bears, no rifles.

rifles/priests/spellbreakers/sorceress/griphons/archmage/mountain king will get you incredibly far against Night Elf.

keep in mind that faeries die like flies when focus fired upon with rifles so once you get them out of the way, you should be fine.

if the enemy doesnt go heavy on dryads (less than 5) then go 3 blizzard/1 we/1 aura. blizzard is incredible at high levels.

Yes, but I found out that sometims even blizzard cant make you win when casting on archers. Mass archer just makes your army bigger so DH and kotg can kill your heroes while trying to own the archers with blizzard.

gosh.. faerires are like paper air planes.. they die very quick.. no joke..

bolt heroes and kill em, and you basically win the batlle =/ (true story)

As for bears, rifles with meats > them, mgs, knights > mgs


just dispel DotC's rejuvenations...
