Earlier today the Supreme Court ruled overruled the DC handgun ban and for the first time in history officially ruled that the second amendment is an "individual" right. All in all, I think it's an absolutely great decision, though sadly it was only a 5-4 ruling.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Thursday, for the first time in the nation's history, that individual Americans have the right to own guns for personal use, and struck down a strict gun control law in the nation's capital.

The landmark 5-4 ruling marked the first time in nearly 70 years that the high court has addressed whether the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution protects an individual right to keep and bear arms, rather than a right tied to service in a state militia.

guns means more ability to kill but also more ability to defend oneself. although im personally not a fan of guns and have no idea as to why anyone would need to be in possession of a gun save hunting.

however, the freedom to wield guns shows a bit of trust in their citizens which is good to see

It's not that gun control is the #1 reason we have the highest murder rate, it's unregulated gun control... Giving ghetto people guns so they can protect their heroine stash and kill other gangsta thug ass people because they wore a different color.
