I had the chice to take this game, or take the spider man movie on UMd. I already have Spiderman 2 on DVD, I didn'twant a second copy. After playing this game, I would have taken a second copy of a movie I would never watch again on a PSP.
Gameplay - 3/10
Incredibly terrible. The controls were terrible, the game provided near impossible defence/goalies. Even on the easiest mode nearly every shot is blocked, regardless what way the goalie is facing.The control scheme is uninspired, and dull while the control stick... It ****ing sucks for this game. The puck control in the game was carlessly designed, but something you can get over if you wanted to actualy play this game.
Overall there is little to nothing to do in this game. there is a short season mode, and a couple unlockables. By acouple meaning you can unlock gretsky, and 2 different jerseys and that is about it. This game made Madden for the DS look good, and that is hard to do.
Graphics - 6/10
The graphics were quite good, obviously the PSP has something going for it. however the graphics created choppy framerates.
sound - 4/10
The sfx were rather good, but hard to notice because the terrible pathetic wannabe rock bands. What the hell do they think
Multiplayer - 6/10
Your basic hockey game. Not much to it, it has the ability to go online. Thats about it.
replayability - 5/10
Basicly, if you like this game you can play it again I guess. I like hockey games, I didn't like Gretsky for PS2, but I figured this might be better. Damn I was wrong.
overall - 4.8/10
Not a good start to the PSP, but of all the titles, this one looks like it didn't suck so much. I am going to look for some better games to buy, because this thing won't make me want to play a PSP. Oh well, 989 has found a way to create a game that sucks more than NKL 2k4.
