Well I have been playing Diablo for ages now. I remember when I first succesfull beat diablo and retained the story line. Soon after I came up with my own, IMO decent story line, for a possible sequel.
The Story at heart is very very broad, allowing any necessary additions.
*The game opens with the end cinematic of Diablo2 LOD. The only difference is it is seen from the eyes of Tyreal (although not a first person view). The corrupted worldstone is shattered, sending fragments volleying in the air. Little to the hero's knowledge a corrupted fragment embeds itself into Tyreal.
Soon after Tyreal is allowed passage back into Heaven due to his heroic deeds. He soon notices a infectious- dark, scab thing (couldn't think of a proper word) growing on awound he had recieved from his quarrel on earth. Little does he know the wound is due to the fragment piercing his body and it is slowly taking over.
Throughout the cinematic Tyreal begins to here malevolent voices is his head. Eventually the fragment takes control over his body. With Tyreal's high stature in heaven he slowly begins to currupt each andevery angel. It is your job to enter heaven and fight your way through hoardes of corrupted angels as well as other monsters. Your duty is to ultimately kill Tyreal and reset the balance between heaven and hell.
