Glowing Damage Portraits?

I was wondering if you any of you cats would mind telling me how people get different colored/glowing damage portraits for units? I'm not talking about using triggers to constantly change hp, this is more akin to what occurs in Gat Bound, where the damage portrait glows shades of blue.

If I understand correctly, those are shields making the portrait glow.

yaa ive seen that but i dont know how to do it and its not shields coz in gat bound it was a zergling

what i saw in one map was the dudes had 40/1 health but i can only get it to 2/1 nomatter what value i put in

i would help ya if i could

The 40/1 health and the glowing portraits are done with StarForge.

The trick is, when you place a unit-sprite (a sprite with its "draw as sprite" flag unchecked) it will always start with the default hit points, but its max hit points will be whatever the HP is set to under unit settings. So, to make 40/1, you would take a unit that normally has 40 HP (like a marine, I believe), set its hit points in the unit settings editor to 1, and then place a sprite. Open the sprite properties, change the sprite number to 0 (Marine's unit ID is 0), and uncheck the draw as sprite flag.

As for glowing unit portraits, it is a similar trick...but I forget how to do it. I'll go try and figure it out now.

just a bit off topic but how ya take screenshots...
mine goto my starcraft folder and they are .pcx files
....is it just coz i cant view .pcx files or is there something else i have to do
