Well, please bear with me. I have been playing this game for quite some time(2 yrs) now! And I feel as if I havent gotten anywhere. I am still a 50% winner...It is really annoying...I am level 29 and growing however I still lose 50% of the time. It gets really annoying. Are any of you guys like me? What do you do to get better?

I already watch plenty replays. I really micro very well...But, in the end my macro doesnt pay off. I play Humans btw. What are your guys accounts?

If you want some of my replays look at the replay section, under a thread titled "The help thread"...If you are wondering what the point of this thread is, then just answer my questions!

Ok i will tell you widely in this thread my thoughts firstly on why do I say i am not in shape.
I have been playing Azeroth RT until April 2004. Then I started solo Northrend, firstly i was taught by good Human players. Until the 2004 Fall i was relatively well. I trained my micro and soon started playing in the WC3M tournaments of wcreplays. I was trained because i played good games vs some people from top clans, lvl 40 and higher - i lost but i was trained. As a result i won vs everybody below lvl 30. Very few losses. But because this year I have to prepare for exams that are far more important I started degrading. I thought that by playng some solo games every time i would keep the level. However, it turned out that I am no longer what I used to be. I lose many times now and i feel stupidity in my head. As if the only way to win is after making some units to wait and see if im going to win or not.I even start to forget thinking about many things during the game. Yes thats my current playing. It has it's results in my stats. I don't care because after a sorc icon i would start new acca but for that- i need higher lvl - more than 30 to be invited to one of our Bulgarian good clans. After the exams i expect to retrieve my skills back.

So I also watch replays but this is the main reason why i play sooo bad now. About you, i don't know- maybe if you find a good Human to tell you what the problem in your brain is that u lose, just like my case ....

When I call myself noob i usually compare myself to that pros like in clan WTA or G2H Northrend. How does this sound? Yeah I criticise myself but that is for good.

If it makes you feel any better, you're not alone. I think that, in general, Warcraft III is a hard game to be competitive in. A lot of people play it, and, let's face it, how good you are is relative too how much you play (Most of the time). I've tried to take shortcuts by watching replays and hopefully getting some kind of lesson from Ntrik_, but it's like reading a chess book to get better at chess; it never replaces the experience gained by just playing the game.

Still, with two years experience.. you should probably be doing really good by now, especially considering your age (17, right?). I'm 18, and I've only been playing for a week, and I've managed to win a bit more than I lose.

Well, actually i havent really been playing for the full 2 years. I have been on and off. Maybe this is why? But still I should be much better than I am now. I sometimes look at some people's accounts and see that they are like 350 to 340...I say in my head that i dont want to be like them! hah..I want to get better. I am currently 145 144! Im getting closer to them! Do you guys know where I can find a good human player? Or where I can compete versus higher level people?
btw levithian whats your account? And yes I am 17...
Thanks

I am level 31 with less than 50% average. A major fraction of my losses were from teammate incompetence. I learned how to use orc myself, and I read Mojo's strategy guide on how to use Raiders and other spellcasters properly. With plenty of practice, I got to be a well talented Orc player. Hell, 2 nights ago I won using Raiders, Grunts, 2 Demos and shaman with a TC in 2 on 2 because my teammate had been ghoul rushed 3 times. It was tiring and time consuming to keep my men alive. The only aspect I need to improve on is microing late game, early on I can do it very well.

I really dont care about my stats, sometimes I just do **** off at or solo, I mean cmon, its aladder, to get yourself ranked back you gotta play War3 like mad, its crazy.

well to get better, experiences, take your losses, and turn it into wins, I learned alot from my losses, with those I try not to make mistakes again in the futuer.

and..I need to cut my nail.

hmmm
i should say PERCENTAGE MEANS SHIT
but i can't even do it for myself.
you see, my acc is 96-35, and has 5 discs @ team. anyway, i'm not a GREAT player.
i'm not an AT abuser, or anything like that. Bnet is all about "knowing what people expect from you."
if EVERYBODY is using fiends as undead, try going a good old mass ghouls and see how much wins you'll get by surprising people.
the maximus level i ever reached was 29, but that means shit.
if i had used the SAME account since my very start @ war3 ( 3 yrs ago ) i'd probably have a 4000 - 3500 stats, and a whole ****in lot of icons. but i really care about those 9872627367 - 0 accounts, so i smurf a lot in ffa's =(

What I accept warcraft III is not as a thing that takes all the fun you can have in life. It replaces forums and other games- in that way it has turned into a discipline. But it's all about soloing instead of doing other things on computers. There are good clans and since one- two of them are in my friends list, i notice that they play not more than 2 hours a day and not even every day. But their are still good so ?

And about that tourney, good idea quiksilver. I have been waiting so long for another WC3M but they have no funds (yeah WC3M every week now omg we have no money !). Btw why does it say amateur league ? :p

Remember this. The point of the new AMM system was to keep close to everyone at around 50%. I don't understand if you feel like your not good if you have 50%. It just means that you are facing good players, some you can beat and some you can't. You should never expect to beat everyon, that will never happen. not even the pros win all the time, cause there are other pros that beat them.

Look, I don't mind losing or going below 50%. As long as I myself am not the fault, I am satisfied. I know I tried, and I know there are idiots who can't do things correctly. But its their own fault, nothing more. You ask yourself this silver, "Was it your fault you lost?". If it is, do something about it. If it isn't, then start finding a way to manipulate it towards your favor. Another mind over matter scenario right there (I gotta stop watching Star Trek :()

AMM works wonders for solo
but for team games it is completely shitty
i mean, if you get more then 15-0, you'll face like the better ones teamed ALWAYs until it gets you close to 60 %
blizz can't take the idea of someone being good :p

Hellwolf, ofcourse it is my fault that I lose. lol, i dont get what you mean? I look up to all these people that are highly ranked and say,"why the hell cant I be like them, I play enough!"
Yet I see all these people with accounts like 350 wins and 350 losses and say I DONT WANT TO BE LIKE them! hahha...
Anyways, I know that im not good at the game. But, for some reason i just want to get better. Its like some sort of goal.

Yes, even good players in pro clans have stats like 150:110 lvl 35- over 40 wins difference and it is hard to determine if he faces vs 130:120 lvl 29.

Some top players have difference like 110:40 so it is possible, Pan but this means to be extremely good.
I'll tell you in what way the player is determined whether he is good or not by stats: I am 108:101 or something like that for lvl 24-25 (sucks). But a better player would be 108: 96 for example and he will be lvl 28 or lvl 30. Now you understand who is better since he has made the same number of wins for higher level. The same is if you face lvl 25 who has made this level with stats: 250: 240. It is not only the ratio wins to losses. It matters for how many wins and losses what level you are.

But have this in mind: stats not always determine your skills. Ok i have over 10 more solo wins than losses and someone from good clan e.g G2H has 20 more wins. The difference isnt big but he may screw you because he has played more in the past.

Well, what do you think is needed to enter a good clan ranked over 20 solo? Some reqs are stats over 60% and higher (solo players of course). You are right that if you are lvl 40 and you have ~ 50% only you won't be accepted. Thus, you need a new acca and even though you are only lvl 25 or lvl 30 with 70% (not 40 as ur first acca) you have greater chance. These stats are needed even to agree to play you and invite you. t_t

As long as you think you are awesome and your friends think you are awesome, nothing is wrong. THAT is what I was trying to say :D.
