HDDVD was so much better too.

Whatever, Blu-ray is never going to topple DVD so it is going to lose out in the end anyways.

@ Pan

How was HDDVD better?
Couple reasons.

First off they both outputed in same resolution but HDDVD was cheaper.

HD DVD was better. Blu-ray was unnecessarily more complex.

If it was cheaper how did it not win the sales war?

Because price isn't everything, see Linux vs. Windows.

It's just me, but the quality of DVD is good enough for me. Ideally, you need an expensive system to enjoy either format, but I like my laptop.*

Why didn't you stop this from happening? I mean you're so damn rich you could've just bought Toshiba and continued with HDDVD player production, amirite?

the more money is involved in something, the more people are gonna be obsessively protective over it.

also its a new technology, so it goes without saying theyre going to charge stupid amounts of money for it initially. like the playstation 3.

sony already have to rep of obsessive little *****es when it comes to copyright protection so now that even more of their precious money is on the line in their next desperate attempt to dominate the market, plus the fact that no matter which idiot says what you cant stop copyright infringement, ****s gonna hit the fan. its gonna happen at some point..

its a matter of taste. For me i dont really care but going to a better picture isnt too bad of an idea

side note: did porn do anything with this format war?

Sorry, I don't have the financial backing you need to keep the HDDVD format from failing. It's not like I have 20billion dollars in my back pocket or anything.

And seriously, get off my nuts.
