Getting past map protection

i have a map , and it has...quite a few problems, the guy who made it stopped updating it , so i was wondering if anyone knows any way or program i can use to get past the map protection to add some stuff onto it?

I'm sure that the person that stopped updating the map stopped for a reason.

There is a method. But the first person who explains it will have thier post edited without question.
