Hi,

I have a problem installing TFT on my ROC. The ROC copy on my PC is just a copy of the whole Warcraft 3 directory I had on my old PC.

I have the no CD crack on this directory but already changed them to the original uncracked war3.exe and worldedit.exe but the TFT installer still tells me to install ROC first.

I've also tried ading to the registry the InstallPath and Program keys but instead I get an error on SetupDat. Can anyone help?

I had opted for the no CD crack because of the reason that the original ROC CD had intermittently failed before. It's been 3 years now and I'm not sure if I can still find it (the original CD). I was hoping I could still upgrade this old installation of mine to a TFT.

Will it matter if I try to download a copy from bittorrent or other p2p sites? I'm afraid it might corrupt my existing ROC directory when I try to install a new one from torent

I was really hoping someone can help me here. I have lurked on several forum trying to find a solution to my problem. I'm sure someone may have already encountered this and I would greatly appreciate people to post their solutions.

If you modify any game files, they are unlikely to be patched properly as they are, well, modified.

Of course, if you have original game files, then there isn't a problem. There are various ways of getting original game files, of course, most of which I'd prefer not to discuss...*

It's ok, i've already found help anyway.

My problem was that I didn't copy the uninstall files from my old PC where this original warcraft was installed (it was found in the c:\windows directory -- how would i know it back then) all i needed was to get the uninstall files (which i'd prefer not to discuss, hehe), place them in my current PC and add a few lines in the registry and voila -- TFT installs perfectly.

hope this helps everyone else who had this problem (although you have to find the uninstall files yourself which no one here i guess would tell you where)

It doesnt really matter if you dont have the NO CD Crack or not. 1.21B allows the game to be played without use of the CD.

It's all right guys, thanks a lot. I've found a way to make it all work from another forum
