Ferrets?

L

Laharl

I was thinking about getting a ferret, what do you guys think?

I need to factor in a few things...

1. Pre-existing cat. cat that may or may not like ferret.
2. Parents that definitely do NOT like ferrets, and I go to their place occasionally to visit.
3. Price of accessories and/or ferret itself.

Wow Eric, that wasn't necessary.

I personally don't mind Ferrets. But I am not a pet person either. I have only owned 1 dog, but we sold it because it was difficult to train and obidence school wasn't helping.

I believe Ferrets are also a rare find nowadays. And they cost a lot to buy. Plus. you need to keep them inside the confinds of the house. Like weasels, they have somewhat poor sense of direction, and can easily get lost.

They're also really curious, and fearless. A ferret will take on an animal 100x it's size.

1. cats and ferrets get along fine...sometimes. i've seen plenty of youtube videos of it.
2. i think ferrets are the last thing parents might be upset with you about
3. animals arn't toys. they cost money to maintain

By "Accessories" I meant things like the ferret hammock and food. AKA: Maintenance prices. The price of the ferret itself is also quite high...

SKunk maintenance is far worse. They only feed off a specific diet, and its expensive. Plus, you need a permit to own one.

Most pets can get along fine. They just need to adept. And you need to watch it when you own one, especially since you still own that kitten.

*Still owned by that kitten.

I did look at some in a store yesterday, curled up in a cage. In their hammock, cutely. Also where did the ferret + hammock = good idea originate?

I suggest you get the basics for Ferret care. Then worry about more "toys" and stuff.

Ferrets are burrowers as well. I knew a guy across the street growing up, and he would let him dig outside. Holes Everywhere. Something to take into consideration.

Plus, they get lost easily. They are in the same family with skunks for a reason.

But Laharl lives in an apartment. And he is willing to block any holes for the little guy to escape. Especially from keeping him off the balcony, or its gonna be splattered ferret guts.

Most Ferret owners keep thier pets in side anyways.

I live in an apartment and would probably keep it inside a cage. But I might be unable to afford the creature in the first place :(

OH MY GOSH you would keep it in a cage!? you cruel person. You don't deserve to own pets. how would you feel like to live in a cage all day? :D

If I was a ferret with a hammock that goes for walks every so often, and able to ride in a carrying thing... I'd be freakin' happy.
