What is your favorite kind of map (eg: td/survival/bound/trivia/ect.)
I would say. TD.

Story based, but I don't mean RPG or RP. I make my maps the way I like to play them, and I don't really know what genre that is :p

Ok, go to the main page @ www.battleforums.com

The top thing in Portal News (in the center) is by Cort, something like "It is my proud duty blahblahblah" and that is 13 maps which I made. Although SC2 is my fav by far, the type of map I'm talking about is the same as Resident Evil or Azrael. Check them out, I don't have a clue what genre that is (especially the latter).

RP maps...i have no idea but i love makin up some shit story and playin it.

I'm starting to really like RPs. Some of them anyways :p There was a medieval one that was really cool. And a Resident Evil one too.

Action RPGs, I would think?

I guess you could them adventure maps too.

I absolutely loved Diplomacy back in the day. There's nothing like fighting a massive war over Europe (Or the other contintent-baesd diplomacy maps) using Starcraft units. Unfortunately, these maps take up way too much time.. and, if the creator isn't careful, the map can be overloaded with data and can drop every player.

I'm probably the only SC UMS fanatic who never liked defense maps.

No, I'm on the same boat. There was only one defense map I ever hosted myself, at that was Disease Defense. It was kinda fun having infinite power at your disposal (everything was available and cheap). Also, if someone pissed you off, staging massive BSes was fun :p

Other than that I never saw the fun in defense maps, and was never really interested in them.

And.. Adventure RPG is probably the closest thing that'd match them, lol

That's also the map that got me to think:
Do players want more choices or do they want to stick with 1 or 2 choices? What I mean by that is do they want to be able to choose 30 units to kill enemies or stick with 1 or 2 units to kill enemies?
It seems to go both ways. There's bunker/cannon/sunken/etc defenses that seem to only use 1 or 2 units to kill enemies and then there's maps like mine that uses almost all SC units.

Tough choice. But Survival Type of maps really get me good as far as fun goes. Maps like RE: Raccoon City, where you need to survive for a certain amount of time and fend off zombies and T-Virus Monsters. Has anyone played that map? Because as things go, it' really, really hard and I've never been able to beat it, even with my good friends playing with me I would still lose. :(

Defence Maps are also really fun, Sunken D, Cannon D, etc etc. I can't forget Evolves, as a single game of it's kind, or the one that started it all besides Golems, (which I dont like) Evolves still makes me have to think when fighting people and guessing what they are going to do. :)

You:
1) Wait for Red to upgrade
2) If Red masses you, you run away like a chicken
3) Perform a Kamikaze attack
4) Attack someone else
5) Attack Red in more than one location(Mass Red with units all over the map)
6) At last resort, tell Red to press Alt + XXX for a nude picture of a medic to come up. Upon doing that, Red has now left the game.:ufo

I woul probably try yo kill his ally. Thing is, Even though Mutalisks posess splash, Tom Kazansky still does a hell of a lot more damage. And even if I were to attack him after he upgrades, he recieves a powerful BC upgrade after Tom. So at that point, I'm either pretty screwed, or there is the small alternative:

Mass middle, wait for Red to mass me, this way his Archons walk into splash and die, making me the victor of the battle as well as putting me in first. It could backfire, but most people don't see that coming until it's too late.

I would just mass as much as possible and let the other person lag out ;)

Me and DM played one game of Evolves, my first game, and I won :D
