I use windows xp..and for some reason the game crashes after about 10 minutes game play..any idea why?

Overclocked video cards are probably why. If not, close/disable everything except Explorer and Systray INCLUDING anti-virus software. If your WC3 is legal, you shouldn't worry unless playing online. Try downloading updated drivers like nVidia's site www.nvidia.com/drivers and download your drivers and Detonator 40.
