Errr...help please

Hey, I just got a new laptop with Windows XP...It's also a widescreen. Everything is awesome, except EVERYTHING except my desktop is blurry as crap...All links, words, pictures, smilies etc. are extremely low quality...Adjusting my resolution does nothing to fix the problem...Any suggestions?

I don't think my screen is defective, because my desktop/icons show up fine...Everything else is bad

Try taking off/putting on the smooth edges/words setting in effects.
