English Literature is boring

Seriously. I have had lapses of sleep in those classes, copying down 5 sides of notes on Romeo and Juliet. It's just f***ing gay, analysing text like it was an ancient relic, to every single detail, language structure, word usage, oxymoron usage.....

I did well on my Literature mock exam (high B, with coursework A) and I didn't study at all, just went in, did stuff and fell asleep. Yes, it is boring.

What about my cookie-loving BF members?

Yes, I'm taking IGCSE too. Apparently, A* is 95% and above, like all of us are geniuses.

I knew this geek girl who got A*s on everything BUT english lit...twas funny how she got a D. English lit was my second worst subject (can't find my certificate, but i kow i got like a B or something, but still pulled off a pass with distinction)

Revsising Chauser,Shakespeare,Swift 5 months exams on them each month , why they had to be such ppl, to bother the newer generations with that??

Im in 8th grade so i really don't have to worry bout that for a couple years. We read Othello, Hamlet, and Homer The Odessy (sp?). So boring we have to analyze is language structure and word usage. But it's not a major grade (thank god).

hehe i hate english lit. our teacher expects us to know every little thing and be able to multy task. like right now i am reading to kill a mocking bird while at the same time we have to do a poetry unit. i like math even more....now thats just scary.

I HATE Language Arts. I hate reading "American Classics" like Huckleberry Finn. I have no appreciation whatsoever for bullshit classics. I rarely even read and when I do It's something sci-fi or horror.

i actually like some literature. shakespeare is overrated and most of his plays suck ass but then there are others that are good like macbeth and twelfth night. ANY book by jane austen deserves to be burned ("pride and predjudice" and "emma" are fukin soap operas) and dickens is not that great either. Mark twain is a great writer and he deserves even more credit that he is given.

Huck Finn is alright. It's books like "To Kill a Mockingbird" that really tick me off... same thing page after page, I'd be more interested doing nothing.

English is alright... I do badly in my English class simply because I'm not keeping up in it. It's AP so I'll get a grade boost by the end of the year, but my grade still won't be great. I really wish I would have been able to turn in that essay this morning...

hehe esays i got two of them do for monday an informal and a formal esay and i don't plan on doing either of them. **** ill never do another esay if i can help it.

In the Canadian high school system you have to study 1 Shakespearian play per English course (4 in total). All of them have sucked so far (Twelfth Night, Macbeth and Romeo and Juliet). Every grade we over analyse. Ever grade the essay brings my mark down. ****in' Shakespear.

The exams are screwed, apparently, I got B for my exams and my coursework got me up to an A.

I have the chance to get a double credit and 11 A*s this year (instead of the normal 10 subjects usually taken) but English Literature..... Screw Shakespeare.

The funny thing is, I didn't even use my IG grades in the end, didn't send them off to any university...and damn IG's expensive, even more so than IB...

the exams are screwed? lol...for us, those days were the best. The exams were scheduled soo far apart we'd take an exam like once every week (and party for the rest of the week), and we finished school like 2 months earlier than everyone else.

It's a real shame if Enlish lit sucks...it could be really cool if they tought tolkien and didnt waste time having people mess around with analysis and crap.
