Enchant

I made an offline enchantress to test the build before I make on online. The skill said it added 2.5k fire damage to attack, but it added 8k. Anyone know why it did this or if it will work online?

it seems that fire mastery affects the dmg more so then what it enchant says. when i maxed enchant and used it, it gave me the correct dmg. i then maxed warmth and used enchant and again it was correct. i maxed fire mastery and my dmg was over double what enchant said.

i then got rid of warmth and had only enchant and FM and again the dmg was over double. then i put warmth at max and FM at 1, enchant was not double, but the dmg still off from what it said it was.

so my theory: FM makes enchant do more then what it says it does.

edit: and yes my theory is stating the obvious ^^;

enchantress are used basically on hc when u need high dmg at a low lvl.... dmg can go really high for them (maybe 7k++ with proper non melee gears)

however if ur making a meleesorc thats a different story

WTF? how is that possible, i used the d2items skill planner thing maxed out fire master enchant and warmth but it says it only does 504-659 dmg... how are u getting such high numbers for dmg?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

try testing it on single like how we did. fire mastery somehow boosts the dmg up way more then what it says it does.

helm: +3 fire circlet [1-2x socket 5/5 fire facet]
armor: +2 valor, enigma, 15% fire ormus +3 enchant [socket 5/5 fire facet]
belt: arach
ring1: soj, bk
ring2: soj, bk
glove: magefist
ammy: +3 fire
weapon: +3,20%fire eldritch [socket 5/5 fire facet]
shield: lidless, sigons [socket 5/5 fire facet]
boots: anything....

inventory
10x fire gc
1x anni

with facets and attack bonus it should go up dramatically

Also, I've found the d2skills planner to be wrong on more than a few occasions.

Fire mastery dosen't affect the damage the actual skill displays.

On another note.... weapon switching to a + skills weapons, casting enchant, and then switching back won't help with the fire damage. It seems that enchant is considered an arua... its damage is only affected by how many + skills you are wearing. Although switching weapons to +skills weapons don't seem to affect the amout of +AR you get.

I know because i currently have a lvl 47 melee sorc.

No, it's not an aura. When you cast then switch, it takes pts away from fire mast.

Fire mastery + Enchant thing is bugged, cuz Fire mastery adds fire damage in % on both the Enchant damage and the displayed fire damage. So the fire damage addiction from fire mastery is calculated 2 times, not one, that's why a melee sorc can make insane fire damage with enchant.

This works only on the sorc, and not on her merc / party members.

I was on a 3-week Holiday @ sea, but now I'm here again.

And I forgot to say before, this "enchant + mastery" thing works on the realms too, cuz a friend tried it and made insane damage with his Ladder Enchantress.
