Just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this...

My computer freezes and resets within about 5 minuites of me opening the editor. It says when the reset is finished that the graphics card could not complete a drawing operation, however i have a friend who is using the same OS and drivers as me who has no problem at all.

This problem also occours in the game itself, but nowhere near as often (mind, it occours in most other current games as well and its getting rather irritating).

Im currently operating with windows XP Pro
Graphics card: Geforce 2 MX 400

Oh, and ive had a friend take a look at the problem some time ago. He improved it alot (before he looked at it it was near impossible to do anything involving the graphics card) and he said the problem was that the graphics card was sharing the same IRQ with the modem. After he fixed it, i figuered out that i was experiencing 2 seperate problems that both resulted in the same symptoms (freeze followed by reset). He fixed the first one.... but he says he doesnt know what else to do with the problem. Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

To the moderators: Apologies if this is slightly off topic, but since this does involve the Editor and making it run properly i hope you dont consider this inappropiate.

Humm... I GeForce 2 TI is perfectly good, but a GeFOrce 2 MX.... Im not sure about that. Im quessing that its you graphics card, since a GeForce 2 MX is pretty old, but I don't know if its bad enough to crash the editor... Try contacting support@blizzard.com if you can't fix it. They're pretty good at getting back to people.

I have similar problems with a GeForce 2 MX 400 card... but when seriously overclocked. GeForce 2 MX 400 is fine to run WCIII WE easily, but at core speed 200Mhz and memory speed 233Mhz at most. WCIII can run at 200/250. It's also possible that your drivers have become corrupted. Try re-installing them and download nVidia's new drivers. Also, check your motherboard to see if it supports AGP4x at least. I've seen problems with old motherboards using GeForce 2 MX cards.

Thanks for the replies, I will email Blizzard soon and hopefully fix the problem.

BTW, im sure the problem isnt with the drivers (I installed new ones, and my friend reinstalled a couple of different ones to see if it would help) and im pretty sure defrag isnt going to help - isnt it just rearranging the memory?

Defrag is for boring people, try purging and re-installing. Purging as in formatting... but that's only when you have no choice what to do but that. Oh, and why did your friend install some 'other' drivers? That might be a problem...
