Earthbound

Please tell me someone else has played it here besides me and Shadow1psc. The game was not your average RPG. Rather, it was more set in modern times then anything else. Imagine being a hero who uses everyday items to fight bad guys? Sounds pretty weird at first, and most people consider Earthbound weird because it's not the average hack and slash RPG. It's pretty unique in itself for being a modern-day RPG where you are a sm,all boy who smacks things with a baseball bat. But that's just the jist of the story. You eat food for HP, bonuses, you get an ATM Card, it's really awesome because the game is set around a basic evil that has influence over most things. You find yourself bashing cops and dogs and even animals that are under evils control.

I love Earthbound. Next to Final Fantasy 6, it's probably my favorite RPG for the SNES, ad well as overall favorite. It is a nice break from the typical RPG, it has it's humor points, and it's actually pretty long for a first runner up. Theres not many quirks on how to beat anyone boss easily, as they can be pretty hard if you don't know what you're doing. Spells are leveled in PSI, or psychic energy I believe. Your main character has a special PSI Move which you can name and which only he can use. The other characters besides Jeff use Psi moves as well as having some that only they possess. Jeff uses gadgets, such as aerosol, bottle rockets, bombs, and other gizmos to help you out.

The game had it's weird moments too, thats abither reason I love it. There's so many things in that game that can just make a person say ''what the **** LOL!''.

I played earthbound. It got real boring real fast. As someone who hates RPG games on average, this game sucked more than the usual FF game does.

Its weird how your favorite saying becomes the suffix of your ultimate spell. Well, I found it a funny game at the start, OMFG POGO KIDS ATTACKING ME!

The Sharks as a street gang were weird, but they constantly dropped hamburgers. I power leveled with them until level 7, where you get the first instance of your special attack. It kills Frank in one hit, and it weakens Frankenstein to a good number as well.

I never played it. Because of how good it supposedly was I planned to buy the Nintendo 64 version. The graphics looked very nice. Unfortunately the project was moved to Gamecube then dropped entirely.

Hahaa. Yeah. There was such ggoo humor in that game. You could name the ID Card ''Doggy ****'' and when you fought the last boss, it would say, ''Doggy ****'' Kept praying.

Yeah, I found that out as well. IF you don't power level, Frank ends up dealing 60 damage with a knife, and we cannot have that.

I found that out the hard way. I blasted him and his stupid robot. Now, a really hard boss was probably Electro Spectre or Starman Deluxe. Damn shields, and they use some bad spells like Thunder Omega and Starstorm Beta. Those spells hurt, a lot. Especally Starstorm. 350 damage to everyone isn;t nice when Paula and Jeff barely make it over 250 total.

So funny. You can totally twist the name thing and it makes things sound so grotesque and nasty. But that's one of the many joys of Earthbound, I must say. Let's not forget:

There is one thing I like about Earthbound, a lot actaully. The fact that the music that it plays for each area you visit actually go well with that area. I can't find many games on the SNES that did that for me.
