Actually, Emo's are the most effective monks. Divine favor doesn't do shit, unless you get divine boon, which sucks. Gogo energy storage + good self heal + 36 extra energy.

But, monk's still get the #1 pick at party's, gogo monk base class.

Wow I had to bump this.

Since when are E/Mo's the most effective monks?

And since when doesn't Div favor do shit?

I got healing on 16 and DF on 14 with my pvp monk which makes max healing through skill + an additional 14*3 healing with divine bonus. Healing Touch with the doubled bonus makes 28*3 = 84 + 60 hp through skill = 144 self-healing for 5 energy and kickass recharge time. + Divine Healing for very bad cases with about 230 hp for near party members. Actually it needs a spike team or an interrupt mesmer to get my monk down.

I can't see where E/Mo are even near being good healers.

1. Energy is nice but my monk has 71 en and I haven't met too many opponents so far that survived long enough to get me into serious en problems.

2. While E/Mo might be the easiest char for PvE it totally sucks in PvP if you really rely on the healing aspect. You miss the full benefit of energy storage when you waste points on healing.

3. Eles can be the most damage dealing chars right now (a 4 Air Ele Spike team can show you that) so why not go for that?

The only E/Mo combo where the monk aspect can be used for the parties benefit is Earth Ele/Prot Monk with wards + aegis + spirit making every nearby ally a tank.

Ele skills are just too expensive to be shared with healing in PvP. Again, E/Mo still owns in PvE as you have way more time and can run away with breeze on you if needed.
