Ok,

I searched the forums but I couldn't locate the answer to this.

I traded for 2 soj's last night but was not able to trade them for items i needed. If the SOJs are duped or whatever, won't they disappear in time like the HRs? I had a jah poof on me recently.

I have heard of a way to keep the items longer before they expire. Something about openning the trade window with someone and 'perming' the item??

Any thoughts on this?? I really don't want to lose those SOJs.

Thanks in advance!

No, just open a trade with someone and leave the game quickly.

no, just go into trade with someone

theres variations of this that you will hear from some people such as:

YOU have to be the one asking to trade
you have to greenbox out
you have to check and uncheck the greenbox 2x and then esc out

in my experiences though, as long as a trade window is opened from some method, your fine.

Is selling ure rune than re-buying it a valid way of perming too?

uhm, im not sure if you can buy back runes once you sell them, u can feel free to test it though

that was a method to [non-temp] perm items for a few dupes

Actually you don't have to put them in the window, what perms an item is rollback, which is caused by opening a trade screen you or another person can do it, it doesn't matter. when you hit exit it causes a roll back and you leave right away after this is done to ''perm'' your items. if you needed to put it in the screen it would take ages putting in each 3/20/20 or rune. items in your stash also get permed when doing this.

EDIT: For the selling your items to an NPC and buying it back does NOT work for perming.

-.- .09 and lower duped items are perm so there's no need to perm something from .09 (of course wizzies excluded). and yes i tested this, had extra unperm 3/20/20's so i poofed em testing this out :).

no youd ont have to put the duped item IN the trade window.

also it doesnt "Rollback", if it did, youd have a dupe.

Rollback != dupe

Rollback is what happens when your game reverts to a previous save ie you just made <insert runeword here> and it came out perfect but oh noes the server pukes and your runes are no longer in it.

Dupe = duplication of an item, therefore rollback != dupe.
