You dont open a file, that wouldn't do much besides more permanently screw your files up. You have to open the memory location the d2 program is running in, IE, the memory of the process, not the files...
Many hex editors allow this, some don't. If you don't know what you're doing, you shouldn't try this, anyway, its chance of working is low.

ya its chance is like 10% but thats better than nothing...and if u do something wrong u can permanantly screw something up so i suggest dont even try it..

Hex is base 16. Binary is base 2, and the system that we (humans) use, is called Decimal, base 10.
