The only problem is that virus detectors won't find keyloggers or anything of that nature.

That largely depends on how widespread the keylogger is. Kaspersky has quite a wide range of keylogger detection, will detect them with names such as Trojan-Spy.Win32.KeyLogger.fz or not-a-virus:Monitor.Win32.KeyLogger.j etc etc. Both Norton and Mcafee have some keyloggers in their databases, although not too many compared to whats out there. Most AV programs will detect a limited number of keyloggers. The biggest problem is still that it is all just signature based, so until someone submits them a file or they find it themselves they generally won't detect it.

To say the programs "won't find keyloggers or anything of that nature" is not giving them enough credit. They can and do find keyloggers just not to the same degree as a more specialized program, such as Spycop.

Edit: :/ a million posts went up between me reading that then posting this ...hmm i need to move quicker.

It seems I owe him an apoligy, though. I accused him of linking to a virus, when he got scammed.

No hard feelings?

This has been being sold on ebay for the last couple years. This is nothing new, it has been around since 1.07.

The method still works, but it takes allot to accomplish. The actuall success rate is probably around 10-15%.
