Dueling Strategies

I am bored so I am making a thread about strategies in dueling. Often I find that I have trouble dueling certain characters and builds, and I am hoping that this thread will help others as well as myself...ok...here we go.

I mostly use sorcs and trappers so I mainly have trouble with chargers, fohers, bowazons, and other sorc/trappers

For a trapper vs a charger: I cast my traps and wait for him to come towards me...I cast mb right infront of me before I see him(sometimes this will catch him before he charges you) after I see him I click and hold with mb to get him in stun lock while my traps kill him. If he gets too close your pretty much screwed because he'll get you in chargelock. If a pally has absorb...good luck. I just try to either kill him with mb or..if all else fails....run to town unhostile him and hope he unhostiles you. lol :)

For sorc vs chargers: Teleport around to keep him from getting a chargelock and if your a orb sorc or fb sorc spam them towards him when you are off screen. I don't use any other type pvp sorc so I dont know about them.....I just mainly reccommend staying out of his chargelock and gradually kill him....remember...teleport!

nice, mass teleing is key for sorc to win most pvp battles.. btw the psychic hammer is good vs charger if they have too much fhr, it knocks them back aLOT :D

ok now for more strategies...

Trapper vs. Foher and Bowazon: With the foher all i can say is get some light res and absorb...try to stay out of his range...shadow master sometimes takes hit for you so you may want to use that to stay alive. Stay away from him and cast your traps to kill him. Mb him if he gets really close; also you could use hammer like legend said. For the bowazons I just try to see the arrows coming or use shadow as a "shield." For defense against a bowazon I usually get in one of those wall things looks like a L in the walls. and use that to block arrows. For offense i try to dodge arrows and get close enough cast traps. Zons are fast so when I see my traps start to shoot I run over and get her in a mb. Another tip: when zons use multishot you need to either have a good ctb(chance to block) or have alot of poison res. Most zons do alot of poison dmg and try to hit you with a multishot to poison you.

Sorcs vs. bowazons and fohers: again stay away from them, especially the foher. Get good res and maybe some absorb. Tele around and try to hit them before they hit you...this is easier with the fireball but for some reason i find that pallys die very quick from orb. So basically tele in there and kill them fast. With zons it is alway good to have good block on a shield. Arrows will tear you up!!

Trapper vs. Trapper: I use light absorb and res vs a trapper so basically traps dont hurt me...try to stay out of their Mb...likewise try to use your mb to kill them. this duel is usually a draw if both asns have light absorb.

Sorc vs. Trapper: this is a hard duel for me...when you tele to try and kill the trapper they will have traps and mb ready for you. Try to keep a bit of distance between you and them and spam fb to hit them. If you use orb you are gonna have to get closer..which means more risk...if you can get a orb off though it will usually hurt them pretty bad if not kill them.

This is all of the info I can provide with trappers and sorcs. Please ask for any more advice on dueling strategies. If you have anything to add feel free.

ok now that I have dueled a good bit with my necro. I can make an attempt to try a strategy guide. lol. well here goes.

Necro vs. any melee char: Trap them in a prison and bs the mess out of them.
WW barb: stay away from them and use bone spirit to keep them on the move and eventually you will kill them.

Charger pally: i got a neat trick for a charger pally. since they come at me so fast i usually dont have time to trap them in a prison. so instead i make a 4 sided wall around me with bone wall. making sure there is no holes in it b/c charge will find a way in if there is a hole. when the carger comes up he will hit ur wall and go in a circle around you. this is the time to trap him in a prison. after that just bs him to death.

Sorcs: put up a bunch of walls in front of you and stay behind that. or keep moving around. start spamming alot of spears or spirits towards them. if they get close get them in mouse lock and try to kill them. I have a real prob with sorcs and almost any other char that can tele. sometimes i win and sometimes i lose.

Bowazons: Cast alot of walls in front of you and spam alot of bs. I slowly move forward and eventually catch zon in a prison then bs the crap outa her.

My necro can not tele and does not have a golem atm. so this guide may be a little off for a tele or golem necro.

PS: i need help with killing sorcs. any suggestions would be appreciated.

For my novanecro:

Foh'ers will own you, no question. Unless you get Lightning resist (stacked 400+).

Hammerdins are easy. Just keep moving, watch for hammers. They will come in range eventually, and then bone prison them (if they dont have teleport) so you can get close and nova him. These die fast.

Chargers will kill you in one-two hits if they are really good. For these its best to use decrepify to get out of their range, prison em, lower resist, nova, spear = dead.

Warcry Barbs: lol....These are hard because of: HIGH life + HIGH (stacked) poison resist. Just don't them lock you.

WW + Frenzy Barbs: Keep moving. Nova + Lower resist and they will die eventually..

Bowzons: LOL. 1 Prison --> Nova --> Spear = death.

CB Zons: just don't let them get in melee range. Prison is needed sometimes.

Elemental Druids: STAY MOVING. If they get you stunned, you are basically dead.

CC Necro: Don't bother. They will ALWAYS be out of your range and use prison/golem/merc to make sure of that. These are a waste of your time.

A cheap way for a sorc to win is to get a lvl 80+ act 1 merc, and equip it with some decent gear. Then when you get out there, teleport everywhere and your rogue will shoot for you. She is pretty accurate, and everytime you tele, she shoots another arrow. As long as you have enough mana and keep dodging their attacks, you're set. I've found this doesn't work for FOH pallys unfortunately...(at least not for me)

TRAP VS BARB
Yes, jus run and lay traps on ur way, (run in circles) (no shadow master for this one)
After all 5 is layed, mind blast him in the middle of the circle, he should die slowly/fast

TRAP VS ZEALDIN

TRAP VS FoH
Mind blast him, have ur shadow around, lay traps, keep on mind blasting. (run into town after getting one hit, you'll be left with probly 10 life or so if FoH is good pally) very hard char to fight and very chap char for ppl to pvp.

TRAP VS CHARGE DIN/smiter (most chargers tend to charge then smite)
use psychic hammer on him, have ur shadow, lay traps around him, keep on mind blasting. (remember to run when he charges at u)

TRAP VS POISON NECRO
Mind blast, and lay traps around him, mind blasting will kill him. Dont worry about poison, your life is gonna go down to 1, jus dont get hit form him.

TRAP VS BONE NECRO
Run around, have ur shadow to take bone spirit, mind blast him as soon as u see him, lay a trap (1). Then he'll probly run away, follow, he 'll have low life if hes not potter, then mind blast again, lay traps, finish him off.

TRAP VS JAVA ZON
Jus get away from zon, mind blast, lay traps, ur good.

TRAP VS HYBRID ZON
Mindblast as soon as u see her, lay traps, ur good

TRAP VS BOWZON
Mindblast as soon as u see her, lay traps, ur good

TRAP VS FIRE SORC
Jus lay traps every where, she'll tele and die OR you can mb her as soon as shes in ur screen, lay traps.

TRAP VS COLD SORC
Very ez, have luna and raven spiral, lay traps, mb.

TRAP VS TRAP
Run around, same strat as barb except u run in parrallel as other trapper.

TRAP VS MELEE ASN
mb, lay traps around her

TRAP VS KICKSIN
very ez, only one trap is needed, most kicksins will die in one hit, and wont do much dmg.. only their shadow masters do alot... they jus do dragon flight all the way..

TRAP VS FURY DRUID
same as zeal din

TRAP VS MAGIC DRUID
same as fire sorc

TRAP VS BEAR DRUID
same as zeal din

TRAP VS HAMMERDIN
Mb him from far away, lay traps around u, he'll die

***if enemy has tooo high FhR, use psychic hammer instead, this will be better.

tell me if this is tooo simple, ill edit it if i should.
