Hey Again,

I know this is really unrelated to Diablo 2 But I figured there are alot of smart people here that might guide me.. or have experience with a similar situation.

I have had this problem.. I havnt played a game in a while on a computer I have.
I went to play D2, and It said I was missing files.. I didn't really pay much attention to the error messages.. I restored my pc, and It worked..
but everytime I would restart it, D2 would not work again..
So I continued to restore my pc everytime I wanted to play D2..
Then I had some problems where the PC would shut off by itself w/o shutting down windows.. it would just 'zap' off, but thats really besides the point..
anyways one day. I go to restore and I couldn't, there were no restore points to go to..
So I tried D2, and I get the message, missing DSOUND.DLL.
I tried other games, same message, and Even my mp3's and videos get strange messages, as if I dont have the proper CODECS.
The computer that I am on now, after searching, appears to have 3 files called that, in the locations of:
windows\system32
windows\servicepackfiles\i3856
and
windows\$ntservicepackunintsall$

can I just take that file and bring it to all 3 directories on my pc? permitting I have those directories?

Any help or resources are appreciated.. thank you

Two ways:

Get a new d2 disc (whichever disc)

Get a new computer
