The only problem, to me, is that the characters are far to reminiscant of a particular anime *cough*DragonBall/Z/GT*cough*

I played the preview, and I'm, at the very least, interested in playing through the story. I hope it has some good story development. If they use voices, I hope they aren't as...vomit bad as Shining Force Neo.

Star Ocean 3 was by far a much better game technically and actually, almost every way. Except the voice casting.

XD Heh. I'd agree with you, there, even though SO3 was a huge disappointment to me =/ It was a great game...but I was expecting something...more, and ToS (NGC) was, in my opinion the superior game.

I like some of the story elements I've gotten hold of so far, and the battle system is kinda traditional. Who knows, that might be more a fatal flaw than anything else. The Dragon Quest staple, that blob thing, makes its return in grand style, including a controller ;

I'm going to pick it up tommorow. oh and this owns SO3 and Shining Force NEO in every way possible. it's made by the same dev that made Dark Could 2.

Star Ocean 3 has one of the greatest battle systems, a semi-ok storyline and very nice graphics.

However, to say that DQ8 is better, is far off. While it uses the same traditional battlesystem that the other 7 have. While it's sticking true to it's roots, I think in the long run that it wil be the ultimate demise of this game.
