what they felt when mods when power-trip? Because I sort *THINK* I do at the moment... doesnt mean Ill go around banning of course since Im not even a mod, and even if I was, I wouldnt do that.

but I can just feel why they would do it... whenever you feel this, you definitly need some temp bans in my opinion. What about you?

I know how you feel N_, that is one of the main reasons I left as a moderator and left BF's all together last October. I couldn't put up with it so I took off... They resented me because of the way I did my work, I was really strict at it... But crooked told me to stay cool about it, I tried... I left instead...

It's all good though, if you need a break, take one... Don't let your stress overcome you... <3

not all the mods are bad, just some can't handle a position of power.

....but theres definatley a reason why i left my staff member position to become a regular poster.

first strip them of their power, and if they continue breaking the rules then temp ban them.

Well, being a moderator at Blue's Forum's, when I see someone breaking the rules, or doing something they shouldn,t the fact that you KNOW you can bust them, and make a difference would seem like a power trip to me. I just know I can do that, and they cant. And that makes me feel like I'm on a power trip, doing what many other can't.

First thing I have to say, there's a difference between being a good mod, a strict mod, and being on a power trip. This is referring to Rune. Here are my definitions:

Good Mod: Helps out when someone breaks a rule. Instead of warning them, keep them feeling welcome by going over the rules with them so if they truly care they won't do it again (The only user who has betrayed that with me is Voice of God)

Strict Mod: If someone breaks a rule, warn them justly (1 point) for the first offence and show them who's boss, tell them whats going on.

Power-strip: Showing that you are better than the user just because of your status. Finding things wrong with the people who are against you and warning for it. Abusing, etc.

Now, me being the arragant bastard I am, consider myself to be a good mod..even though I don't consider myself to be as good as I am capable of. Truth is, I'm a leader not a soldier...I don't need power to make me a leader yet I need it to be the "soldier". You get my point.
