I believe there is a fate, and everyone has a destiny. but, Like in life, there are many roads to the destination. remember that.

hmmm i think everyone has a couple of destinies if that makes sense.. people are born with incredible potential some reach it some don't. i think God knows what we will do with our lives.. though we still have the choice. some ppl would call this fate or destiny i guess...

hmm yeh took me a while too... um this is my best explanation (it is pretty poor but anyway) God knows each of us. he created us he is the beginning and the end he gave us all free choice. just say u have one decision to make but there are 10 choices for each one and therefore 10 diff outcomes..i think god knows what every single eventual outcome will be for every single one of our decisions. and i think he knows the ones we will choose because he knows the future.. i don't see this as predestination though becuause although he knows, it is still a choice. hmm ahh well guess u can look at it either way. thats how i see it.

Yeh. Like Jaden said, according to the Bible God created us knowing what was going to happen to each of us. Not saying he makes choices for us, but he knows which choices we will make. An analogy of this would be, say you are watching a bus full of kids ride up MT. Washington and a truck driving out of control on going down in the same lane on a thin road. You know what will happen to them before it does.

sorry guys, but 'fate and destiny' are a similar topic to 'God'. Fate and destiny are made up by those who are afraid of the future or need an explaination for some terrible event. "It was just his time." or "It was meant to happen." are phases the weak use to justify the things in everyones lives that they can't handle. i understand and have read the posts before about there being many destinies and that we choose which one blahblahblahblah, the thing is, people have made that junk up to conpensate with the growing times. People are starting to wake up and realize what they do is what they do and no one has a set schedule to do anything, your not destined to die one way or even a couple of ways, or to marry him or her. To some, it's scary 'cause they realize, "hey i could work and do good and still screw up!" for others it's liberating knowing that their success is not asured.

just throwing my opinions in the mixing pot:cool:

I think you do, but if you only know what your going to choose what's the point? If there was a 'Fate,' that's what you'd need to know, not just your choice. Then you could change it, i suppose, but since i don't believe in fate, i really wouldn't want to change any choices i've made in my life, what's happened is what has happened, choices are only one part of life, there's the environment your in when you make a choice and the people, hell, even the weather changes things.

well, i fate is real then no one is responsible for their actions right? i think fate is made up. why would god put us here to test us if he knew what we would do? hes damning people to hell from birth? i think fate is a bad theory... you control yourself and are responsible for your actions. but really, if you believe in fate you better not blame anyone for anything.... they may have just been meant to do that. i think everyone is responsible for their actions and shouldnt blame it on fate... i dont think god would put us here for no reason.

btw kenvii i competely agree.

i believe that as individuals we are in complete control of our lives. Their is no predetermined path for us because every day we shift a little bit. we never stick to one path. I also believe that god does not exist (sorry, but i do), and therefore does not control our actions

-my 2 cents

No
Why not
Because I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my life

name movie

BTW no I don't belive in fate, but I do believe in destiny in the sense that when my work is in the field of sciences I serve a purpose to expand human's vast knoledge. I am destined to make a difference.

I do. Did you ever have one of those moments where everything seems to fall into place perfectly, and you know if one thing happened differently it would have crapped out? I think that is fate.

Not very scientific or anything but thats what i think.

im going more on the gide lines theory

there are stepping stones on your path of life
you will reach everystepping stone in that order in that time,
but how you get there is up to you.

like you will die in a car acident,
so you never drive again and always where padding and a helmet when crossing the street.
then one day a car hits you putting you in a coma,
8 years latter you die in that coma.

fate(in a way) but if you didn't wear the pads you would have died instantly and saved a lot of money.

make u feel really important, fate does. makes you think that your life means something in the greater scheme. Nice to think that no matter how much i coast along i am heading somewhere in some part of my life.

I believe in fate. Yes we do make our own decisions but sometimes when we're alone and reminice we would ask ourselves why am I here? Why did I made this choice? If we can't answer it then that is fate.
