Do i need to buy normal and Expan if i add D2 to a new pC?

well my sister just got her computer back.. she had about 12 viruses on it and since i was on vacation i couldn't fix it and it was sent to my uncle and he took forever well anyway.... i have both the diablo 2and the Expan CDs .. she wants to play Expan... do i need to buy another D2 and Expan or can i use my Old D2 CD Key and just ahve to buy the Expan ( she will be playing on expan )

k dood she cant use your D2 expac cuz first off if u try to burn it it has sum damn burn proof crap on it and u both cant go on relms with the same cd key and the classic d2 key wont work either...but...if u can get a no cd loader for expansion u can install it and run it with no cd so theres one problem down drain and the next one is a little bit trick finding a cd key(that works) i suggest go to google and search CD keys for D2 lod and hope one shows up that works(may take a while)...or the other option which prob is the eaysiest is to buy a whole new x-pac cd...blizzard has gotten smarter so now they ake more money off us cuz we can barley pirate there software n e more...but some one plz tell me if im wrong...i think there is a burn proof mecanism on the cd that like creates errors so u cant burn it(or sumthin like that)...u could go teu all the trouble doin all the others...or just buy the damn Cd even if u dont wanna it might just have to work that way...

First yes i can burn it i'm not that stupid...

i just wasn't sure if Bnet checked both expan and normal CD keys or just Expan.

Sorry man, you need to buy the game, its really worth 35 bucks. First, you cant burn the cd because it is write protected man. Second, you need to buy the game because you dont need to cheat blizzard. They make phonominal games and its worth it to give them 35 bucks for it. Its not going to make a difference anyways. Your going to need a new cd-key. And last, diablo 2 lod is a good game and its worth it

acuall i've burned tons of copies of D2.. just need a crack to bypass the proctection~~ not that hard... people gotta stop thinkin legally~

Why can't anyone give a straight answer? I am interested in this too. We know that you need cd keys, and I am not interested in burning or cheating. I just want to know if you need just a new cd key for LOD or if you need to buy the Battlechest because you also need the key for the original Diablo II.

If you are only going to play LOD on closed battle.net I would think you could load the same original Diablo II on both machines because LOD doesnt use this CD to play, it uses the new CD from LOD expansion. Then you just buy a new expansion pack to get the key for LOD, and save some money. Am I right?

SO, do we need two keys or one????

you need a new cd key for d2 and LOD. it checks both.
